I've been playing around with adding background textures to portraits using blend modes in Photoshop. It works best with a grey background so you're not carrying a color cast through to the texture. At the moment I only have a blue background so I've just been going with the blue. When I saw my wife all dressed in blue I had to get this shot.

Nice shot, I finished my photoshop class but I still feel like there is so much more to know. It feels somewhat overwhelming
Pam, I was just watching a video where a photoshop pro was saying the same thing. His advise was to figure out what you need to know to get the results you want and don't worry about how massive the program is. Hopefully your class gave you a good foundation to build on.
