A Walk in the Park

I trip out to the state park proved worthwhile today.  There must have been a hundred swallows in branches that hung out over the lake.  It was very cool to see but hard to photograph because there were so many branches going every which way and blocking the birds bodies.  I going with this one.  The orange breasted bird out front is a barn swallow and the others are tree swallows.

I also got shots of two new species.  I believe the above is a Yellow-Rumped Warbler.  Below is a Ruby-Crowned Kinglet.

For these I used the 400mm/5.6
I bought it last spring and have been very happy with it.

Care to trade your birding adventures for snow adventures? Haha! I've yet to see the huge flocks of snow geese migrating let alone having my tree swallows return! Thanks for posting such great images! I'm afraid spring might not return and neither will the birds! :(

No trade. Snow looks nice but I'm not a fan of the cold that comes with it.

And I forgot to add that I saw four or five snow geese in a field this morning. I think they're coming your way. :)

Ah, my uncle, an avid bird watcher, would love these pictures!

So quick to say 'NO!' Hahaha! The snow provides bug-free living for 6 months out of the year!!! Something to ponder!
